MEET OUR PASTOR
Bernard Grant
A native of the inner city of Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Bernard Grant gave his heart to Christ at the age of 15 and responded to the call of ministry at the age of 17. He graduated with honors from NC A&T State University in 1986. He received his Doctrine of Ministry from Friends Christian University in January 2000.
Dr. Grant helps usher in a refreshing breeze of the Holy Spirit in a world that is divided, even fragmented, by political, social, ethnic, and religious hostility. He seeks to keep unity as he pastors a non-denominational church where the Word teaches about Faith, Family, and Finances.
Dr. Grant founded Showers of Blessing Christian Center in November 1989. The ministry started with just five members at the YWCA. Another facility was soon found at 406 Cokey Road in the city of Rocky Mount, NC, that would seat more people. In just a few years, it was packed to capacity. And in 4 1/2 years, the mortgage was burned, Paid In Full.
In March 2003, Dr. Bernard Grant moved his congregation into a much larger facility with over 1000 people. Showers of Blessing Christian Center is a Bible-centered, Family Oriented Church that seeks to meet the needs of man: spirit, soul, and body.
MEET OUR LEADING LADY
Phyllis Grant
Lady Phyllis Grant, affectionately known as “Lady P”, is the wife of Dr. Bernard Grant, Pastor and Founder of Showers of Blessing Christian Center.
Devoted to the vision of the ministry, she assists her husband with a variety of duties to assure that his God-given mandate is carried out. She has the same emphasis in ministering as her husband, which is faith, family, finances, and prosperity in every area of life.
Lady Phyllis is the Director of the Women’s Ministry. She too is an anointed, uncompromising teacher of the Word of God. Her passion is to encourage women to grow, mature, and go deeper in the Word of God, making it the final authority in their life. Thereby resulting in them living their best life in Christ.
