ABOUT US

OUR MISSION

In June 1989, the Lord Spoke to Dr. Grant about establishing a church independent of denominational ties. A church that would allow the Holy Spirit to operate as He chooses, a church that would teach the Word to His people uncompromisingly. On November 5, 1989, Showers of Blessing Christian Center was born. 

 

The Ministry started with just five members at the YWCA, 215 Lexington St., in Rocky Mount, NC. Four months later, on March 11, 1990, the ideal facility was founded at 406 Cokey Road. With the community's help, the facility was paid in 5 1/2 years, DEBT FREE.

 

The congregation grew tremendously, and the church quickly outgrew one service, so Dr. Grant added additional services. In 2003 the congregation walked to the new location to claim victory over the new land God had promised at 1740 East Raleigh Blvd. This new building can now accommodate over 1,000 believers.

M. Sinclair 

Growing up in Showers I was born into an immediate family. I have had continuous support from my Pastor and the members of the church. With the encouragement of my church family, I've overcome many hurdles. They always kept me in their prayers and knowing I had their support gave me the motivation to get better. Among many, many other accomplishments I've graduated from high school and I am headed to college next week.
